What started as a community Chaplaincy Center in 2010 has transitioned into a community-based, non-denominational church focused on Worship, Praise, Education, Family and Mission. Rev. Godbolt was licensed to preach the Gospel in 2001 and formally ordained in 2006.

The fourth of five children, Rev. Warren Godbolt was born in Bridgeton New Jersey. In the early sixties his family moved north to Bridgeport CT. taking roots in Father Panik Village Housing Complex. The “Village” as it was known, made life very challenging.

Although a single parent, Rev. Godbolt’s mother continued to exercise faith and encouraged her family. Rev. Godbolt was 20 years old when his brother was killed in an accidental shooting. His brother was 21 years of age. This tragedy severely impacted Rev. Godbolt. He knew it was time to seek God’s direction for his life.

Rev. Warren Godbolt was called to ministry in 1990, which began his quest and desire to fulfill the vision that God had placed upon his life. He was employed by the city of Bridgeport as an outreach worker and then as a health counselor at Southwest Community Health Center. It was during this time the Lord called Rev. Godbolt to establish a nonprofit organization to address issues in the African American community, specifically the overrepresentation of African American males in the Juvenile Justice System. Here, Rev. Godbolt had opportunity to work with federal and state legislators, state courts and the departments of parole & probation in efforts to help young men wrongly accused and incarcerated.

From 1992 through 2006, Rev. Godbolt served as the organization’s CEO and Founder with offices in Bridgeport, Waterbury, Stamford and New Haven regions.  Under Rev. Godbolt’s leadership, the agency provided vocational training programs, the Underground Railroad that provided safe havens for former gang members; afterschool programs; summer camping; alternative education for high school students with learning disabilities; job placement for ex-offenders; occupational skills training in upholstery, carpentry, certified nurse’s aide, dental assisting, welding, heavy equipment operators and computer repair; and many other services too numerous to name. Founded on faith and the Spirit of God, the agency excelled from an original budget of $2,500 to an operating budget of over 2 million dollars, comprised of federal, state and private grants and employing over 250 employees and servicing 1500 youth, adults and families annually. In 2005 and 2006, Rev Godbolt led the charge, bringing “Feed the Children” to Bridgeport for the first time providing food boxes for 1600 families.

In 2007, Rev. Godbolt spearheaded the development of a 1.2 million dollar vocational training business enterprise consisting of a childcare center, cosmetology school, community alternative school and occupational training company, the first of its kind in the city. Rev. Godbolt continues to sit on numerous boards and continues his community involvement.

Godbolt is a Pastoral Care facilitator for the State of Connecticut Department of Corrections; a member of the New England Executive Board of Prison Fellowship; a national instructor for Prison Fellowship; a national coordinator of Prison Camping Ministries, a member of the National Association of Black Administrators in Child Welfare, a member of the Fairfield County Clergy Association and the Bridgeport Interdenominational Ministers Alliance. Pastor Godbolt’s call to ministry is clearly to influence the body of Christ and improve the living conditions of individuals and families through spiritual growth, personal development, and economic community development. In addition, his call is to augment a church that is non-traditional and multi-cultural in composition and scope, moving beyond racial and denominational segregation through culture shared through Christ. Pastor Godbolt has been happily married to Minister Fay Godbolt for over 30 years and the proud father of five daughters.
